Prism Lab: A Dedicated Space for LGBTQIA2S+ Makers

June 9 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Promotional graphic for The Prism Lab, an LGBTQIA2S+ makers group. 2nd Tuesdays, 6-8 PM at Fourth Plain Commons.

Through a prism, light doesn’t just pass—it expands into its full, vivid spectrum. The Prism Lab is a monthly creative hub designed specifically for LGBTQIA2S+ writers, fiber artists, crafters, and visual artists to gather, connect, and create.

This is a space of “collaborative courage” where you can work on your projects without needing to translate your identity or explain your perspective. Whether you are knitting a sweater, drafting a novel, sketching in a notebook, or stitching a quilt, you’re invited to bring your current work-in-progress and create alongside a supportive queer community.

What to expect: We begin with a brief round of introductions and a chance to share what we’re working on, followed by dedicated, low-pressure time to dive into our respective crafts. Come exchange ideas, troubleshoot tricky patterns, or simply enjoy the high-energy company of fellow makers.

Note: Please bring portable, clean craft supplies (sketchbooks, laptops, yarn, embroidery, etc.). Space and cleanup are limited, so please leave messy mediums like oils or wet clay at home! Occurs every second Tuesday.
